Greetings
I am Nathaniel Long. I have five children and a South Korean wife, the love of my life and my best friend. The first 14 years of our life together were in South Korea, Land of the Morning Calm. Each child of ours began daily lessons from baduk hagwons (private go academies) at the age of three, continuing studies until our exodus to the U.S. in April of 2011.
While I have studied the opening moves in texts fairly much, our children can trounce me at times by their superior life/death skills, a result of their manifold hours of competitive experience. Straddling two cultures, we aim to import the fine art of baduk from the Orient and use the game to serve Jesus in our teaching of the game here in our second home in the U.S. We find the game of baduk calm and aesthetically pleasing, lending itself to be a fine medium for sharing the Gospel and our walk with Jesus. Hence, our involvement in Cornerstone Baduk. Here is a short video of us teaching, April 2018. Our TeachersNathaniel Long father
